GDC Marketing & Ideation Acquires Award-Winning Production Company, Geomedia to Boost the Production Market in South Texas and Beyond
San Antonio, TX — GDC Marketing & Ideation, a leader in strategic marketing and communications, has acquired Geomedia, an award-winning, full-service, video production, post, and interactive agency also based in San Antonio. The venture will continue to produce work under the Geomedia brand. Financial terms were not disclosed.
GDC Marketing & Ideation is a full-service advertising agency and named the 2022 San Antonio Business Journal’s Business of the Year. This acquisition represents a strategic move by GDC to grow its production capabilities and expand the capabilities of Geomedia across Texas and throughout the United States.
Geomedia specializes in high-end digital imagery for film, video, web, mobile, and experiential media for clients across Texas, the United States, and international markets. Their client roster includes Valero, USAA Educational Foundation, the City of San Antonio, H-E-B, University Health, Toyota, the San Antonio Spurs, and National Geographic among others. As part of the agreement, GDC will provide back-office support and new business development for Geomedia. Murray Breit, one of the three founding partners of Geomedia, will continue to manage the organization as Chief Executive Officer. Zach Nasits will lead the Geomedia production side of the company as Executive Producer, Director, and Director of Photography. Overseeing Art Direction responsibilities at Geomedia will be Martin Jaeger. All Geomedia employees will stay in their roles and employees of GDC Studios, the production arm of GDC, will join the team at Geomedia.
“This is an exciting fit for us as we see growth for GDC in several ways, one of which is acquisition. Geomedia has been a partner of ours for more than 25 years. There really is no other company in South Texas that does this level of production, animation, and visual effects.
We look forward to helping them to focus on what they do best– award-winning work,” said Beth Ochoa, Chief Executive Officer of GDC Marketing & Ideation.
“Our team has put "the time in” developing Geomedia into a production company recognized for consistently delivering award winning content,” said Zach Nasits. “I believe this partnership expands our capabilities as a full-service production company even further, while solidifying greater San Antonio as a premier production destination for anyone who wants their concepts produced at an exceptional level.”
“We have built the trust of our clients, and we look forward to continuing that work both in South Texas and across the US,” said Murray Breit. “This collaboration will grow Geomedia’s production and post expertise, acquisition of new equipment and spaces, as well as our development of virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality projects. We are truly excited!”
