GDC welcomes Alexa Baca

GDC welcomed Alexa Baca to our account service team this summer. She is one of the friendly faces you’ll see as a client. We may be working remotely, but we’re getting to know her via video conference calls and instant messages. We also asked her a few questions to speed up the process.

 What is your current role?

My current role at GDC Marketing and Ideation is an Account Executive. Essentially, I serve as a middleman between the client to the creative and media teams. My goal is to understand exactly what the client’s goals, budgets, restraints, and products are so that I can activate what they need with the creative and media teams. In collaboration with other Account Executives, I help initiate those projects, keep them moving, and serve as gate keepers to make sure the client gets quality deliverables that meet their specifications.

How has it been coming on board in the current environment?

I never expected to be working remotely right out of college, let alone starting a new job in the middle of a global pandemic, but the GDC team has been very welcoming and accommodating with my on-boarding. Although, I’ve only been at GDC for a little over a month, I feel very comfortable approaching anyone on the team for questions and answers. Everyone has been great about getting me up to speed on processes and I’m also having a fun while doing it!

What is your favorite San Antonio spot?

Pre-COVID my favorite spot in San Antonio was The Rustic. I love the live music nights and sangria popsicle margaritas! My current COVID-free spot is the Drive-in movie theater. I love taking my own snacks and re-watching old movies.

Tell us one thing about yourself that isn’t on your resume.

One thing that’s not on my resume… my baking skills! If you don’t find me at the Drive-In movie theater, you’ll find me in the kitchen making cookies and cakes for any and everyone! Baking is definitely how I de-stress. The most rewarding part of baking for me is seeing someone’s reaction when they take that first bite.

We’re excited for her to join the team, and equally as excited to try some of her baked goods when the time comes. Connect with her here.
